Description: Is about 9 inches wide. Has a 6 ft cord. This cast aluminum style unit is designed to operate beneath the water level in a submerged environment. Most tanks are two feet deep. The unit works very well within this depth. The sheath is intended to protect the element and to act as a heat sync. This model will keep open 150-300 gallons of water. Heavyduty automatic waterproof thermostat sealed in epoxy to prevent moisture contact. Heavy metal spring protects cord. This has a 3 year warranty. This is safe for plastic tanks. It is thermostatically controlled to turn on when the water temperature reaches freezing and will turn off when the water temperature is above freezing.
