PILIGUARD PINKEYE-1 TRIVALENT: 3 strain pinkeye vaccine against Moraxella bovis which elicits broad protection against pinkeye. One shot season-long pinkeye protection requires that cattle are handled only once! Challenge data indicates up to 86% reduction in incidence of pinkeye in vaccinated animals versus controls. Easy to administer 2 ml dose can be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously in the neck. 600% increase in IgA tear antibodies of vaccinated animals versus controls.
INDICATIONS: PILIGUARD Pinkeye-1 is recommended for use in healthy cattle to aid in the control and prevention of pinkeye caused by Moraxella bovis, Bacterin Moraxella bovis Bacterin
Active Ingredient(s): Moraxella bovis bacterin isolates referred to by Schering-Plough as strains EPP63, FLA64 and SAH38.Preservatives: Formaldehyde and gentamicin
Dosage and Administration: Inject 2.0 mL intramuscularly three (3) to six (6) weeks prior to the onset of the pinkeye season. An annual booster dose is recommended.
Precaution(s): Store at 2-7?C (35-45?F). Do not freeze. Shake well before each use. Use the entire contents when first opened.
Caution(s): For veterinary use only. Transient local reactions may occur at the injection site. If an allergic response (anaphylaxis) occurs, administer epinephrine or its equivalent. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur with a biological product and can cause temporary reduced milk production in lactating cattle.
Warning(s): Do not vaccinate within 60 days before slaughter.Extreme caution should be used when injecting any oil emulsion vaccine to avoid injecting a finger or hand. Accidental injection can cause a serious local reaction. Contact a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs.
