BETADINE SURGICAL SCRUB. Antiseptic sudsing skin cleanser.
INDICATIONS: A microbial cleanser. For the Veterinarian: Pre-and postoperative scrubbing and washing. For the animal: Preoperative prepping.
DIRECTIONS: A. For preoperative scrubbing and washing by veterinarian and operating personnel. 1. Wet hands. Pour about 5 cc (1 teaspoonful) into palms and spread over both hands. Without adding more water, scrub in the usual manner. Use a brush if desired. Clean thoroughly under fingernails, then add water and develop copious suds. Rinse thoroughly under running water. 2. Repeat entire procedure using another (5cc) of Betadine Surgical Scrub. B. For preoperative prepping on animals: After the surgical area is clipped, wet with water. Apply Betadine Surgical Scrub Veterinary (1 cc is sufficient to cover an area of 20 to 30 sq inches). Develop lather and scrub thoroughly. Rinse off with sterile gauze saturated with sterile water or saline. The area may then be painted with Betadine Solution Veterinary, or sprayed with Betadine Aerosol Spray and allowed to dry.
WARNINGS: For external use only. Not for use on food-producing animals. As with all medication, keep out of reach of children. Avoid storing at excessive heat.
