Orbeseal is a unique antibiotic-free paste that acts as a physical barrier against mastitis-causing bacteria, locking them out for the entire dry period. After cleaning and disinfecting, inject one full tube into each teat. Orbeseal requires no milk or preslaughter withdrawal. Labeled withdrawal should be followed when Orbeseal is used in conjuction with a dry cow antibiotic treatment program.

PRODUCT CODE AND NAME: Orbeseal; 105920, 105919
DESCRIPTION: Orbeseal is a sterile, non-antibiotic intramammary infusion in the form of a viscous paste. Orbeseal is indicated for the prevention of new intramammary infections throughout the dry period.
ADVANTAGES: Mimics the cow's natural first line of defense, the keratin plug. Provides a safe, physical barrier between the cow and the environment. Teat canal seal is created immediately after infusion and is maintained throughout dry cow period (demonstrated 100-day duration). Compatible with conventional dry cow management practices.
DIRECTIONS: Dosage/Administration There are several guidelines for administering Orbeseal: 1.\tOrbeseal should be administered as soon as possible after the last milking of the lactation period. 2.\tTeats should be clean and dry. If teats are not clean, CAREFULLY wash and dry them prior to disinfection.3.\tUsing an alcohol pad, physically clean the end of the teat to remove any contaminated skin, dirt, or manure. Repeat until the pad remains clean. 4.\tDisinfect the far teats before the near teats to avoid accidental contamination of previously disinfected teats.5.\tInsert the Orbeseal syringe nozzle into the teat canal and inject all contents. Use one complete syringe per quarter. Do not massage. Orbeseal must remain in the teat to be effective. 6.\tNearest teats should be treated first, to minimize contamination of teats that have not been treated.7.\tAfter treating each cow, mark the cow so others can tell she has been dried off. Then dip each teat with a quality teat dip.8.\tAt calving, the Orbeseal plug should be manually stripped from the teat immediately prior to colostrum collection. Any residual Orbeseal will be eliminated by subsequent milking and may be visible on the milk sock or filter. Any Orbeseal ingested by the calf will be harmlessly eliminated.9.\tOrbeseal requires no milk or preslaughter withdrawal. Labeled withdrawal should be followed when Orbeseal is used in conjunction with a dry cow treatment program.
PRECAUTIONS: 1.\tFor animal use only. Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children.2.\tFor use in dry cows only. Zero-day milk and meat withdrawal when used alone. If Orbeseal is used following an antibiotic infusion, the withdrawal periods for meat and milk for the antibiotic apply.3.\tIf Orbeseal gets on the skin, wash with soap and warm water.4.\tIf accidentally administered to a lactating cow, product can be stripped out by hand.5.\tMastitis-causing bacteria introduced into the teat at the time of Orbeseal infusion have been associated with adverse reactions. Each teat must be cleaned and disinfected prior to infusion. The following steps will help avoid introducing infections during administration of intramammary infusions:6.\tDo not place individual syringes in warm water during cold water7.\tDry off cows abruptly rather than gradually.8.\tClean teat ends as thoroughly as possible with alcohol and leave to air dry. Do not use water with or without disinfectant.9.\tClean the 2 teats furthest away first, followed by the 2 closest.10.\tEnsure the teats are clean and dry before infusion.11.\tInfuse the teats in the opposite order to cleansing, i.e., the closest 2 teats first, followed by the 2 farthest away.12.\tAfter infusion, dip teats in teat dip or spray with disinfectant and leave cows standing for at least half an hour to allow the teat canal to close.13.\tCheck cows thoroughly for signs of mastitis during the first week after drying-off.
