Somubac, Haemophilus Somnus Bacterin For vaccination of healthy cattle and calves as an aid in preventing disease caused by Haemophilus somnus. Somubac consists of inactivated, standardized cultures of Haemophilus somnus, adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide.

DESCRIPTION: SOMUBAC is a liquid preparation of 3 inactivated isolates of Haemophilus somnus combined with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance the immune response.
ADVANTAGES: Protects calves and adult cattle against H. somnus, a major contributor to respiratory disease and cause of thrombotic meningoencephalitis (TEME) and reproductive tract infection. Contains 3 inactivated H somnus isolates from respiratory, reproductive and nervous tissue. Standardized blend of all components avoids antigenic interference and assures an optimum immune response. Provides cost-effective protection a complex and often difficult-to-diagnose disease, sometimes resulting in a high death loss. Treatment is a costly and less effective alternative to vaccination. Apptroved for Beef Friendly subcutaneous administration. Resuspends easily. Absorptive aluminum hydroxide adjuvant enhances the immune response.
DIRECTIONS: Dosage and Administration:General Directions: Shake well before using. Administer a single 2mL dose subcutaneously to healthy cattle 3 months of age or older. In accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines, this product should be administered subcutaneously.Primary Vaccination: Administer a single 2 mL dose, followed by a second dose 2-4 weeks later.Revaccination: Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
